Migrated to Hugo
I decided to migrate away from Jekyll to Hugo. I did this for a few reasons:
- Jekyll felt slow; Hugo brags to be the fastest static site generator, which seems to be true.
- Jekyll is written in Ruby; I don’t have anything against Ruby, but I rather focus on learning Go.
- Hugo is a single executable, which seems way easier to have around.
On the downside, Hugo does not seem to have cache busting out-of-the-box. I chose to ignore this for now and serve static assets with max-age=0
.
All-in-all, I hope that the new setup will help me produce more personal content without the site generator getting in the way.
